The town government plans to allow Meika Taniguchi to attend Shimoichi Junior High School on a tentative basis following the Nara District Court's provisional order on June 26.

But Mitsuhiro Hori, the superintendent of the Shimoichi education board, indicated that the board could cancel her admission if the Osaka High Court supports its arguments.

While Taniguchi graduated from a public elementary school this spring, the board barred her from attending the junior high school on grounds that it lacks facilities to accommodate wheelchair use.
